Single Fire Hydrant Standpipe with Check Valve
The single fire hydrant standpipe with included check valve from Vigil Products is a simple solution to bringing water above ground from an underground mains hydrant. Using a single standard UK 2.5" instantaneous outlet, it can be securely connected to the layflat fire hose. Note that you will need a fire hydrant key in order to switch the flow of water on or off.
The fire hydrant standpipe itself is made from high quality aluminium alloy, stands at 932mm tall, has a working pressure of 25 bar, is tested to 35 bar, and comes supplied with a blank plug and chain to protect outlets from dust and rubbish. It connects to the 2.5" female BSRT outlet and is only suitable for use during a fire.
The check valve included is water company approved, helpfully stopping water from running back through the standpipe once it has passed through.
