Air Release Valves for Dry Risers
As you would expect, our BSP Air Release Valves are designed to release air from the pipeline in fire fighting systems, such as dry risers, wet risers, hose reel systems, and sprinklers. When the system is initially charged with water, the air release valve automatically opens against the internal pressure that is too high.
This releases the air pressure and the vent hole is then sealed by a rubber ball within the valve. As the vent hole fills with water, the rubber ball is pushed upwards to ensure a strong and consistent flow of water is achieved when you need it most.
The air release valve is manufactured by Vigil Products using brass in accordance with BS5041. It is available with a parallel BSP Male thread for 25mm (1 inch) or 19mm (¾ inch) inlets.
